Supply & Installation Terms and Conditions


    For all SSEG applications the following is a requirement and is to be uploaded at the end of this document/form:

    • ID copy of Home Owner

    • Utility Bill

    • Meter Number

    • Image of DB board

    • Letter of Proxy

    • Signed Application Document

    This document governs the agreement between FM Solar (Pty) Ltd and the Customer in respect of supply and installation. The Customer will receive a copy of this Terms & Conditions once it has been completed and submitted.

    Supply: FM Solar (Pty) Ltd agrees to supply the Customer as per approved quotation. Upon full payment the customer may collect the equipment or delivery can be arranged at a cost. All equipment carries manufacturer warranties.

    Installation: FM Solar (Pty) Ltd will issue the Customer with a quotation for installation with an agreed lead time and payment terms as follows:

    • 80% deposit required to confirm installation and booking (the Customer is required to use their quotation/estimate number as a reference when making payments)

    • Final 20% balance is payable (within 3 working days) on completion of installation and signed-off job card.

    1. Subcontracting:
      FM Solar (Pty) Ltd may from time to time make use of subcontractors, providing that they have been pre-approved and vetted by FM Solar (Pty) Ltd.

    2. Installation Quotation:
      Installation quote will be given conditionally by FM Solar (Pty) Ltd, providing that the Customer has a valid Electrical COC in place. Should there not be a valid COC in place and the Customer’s DB Board is not compliant, an additional quotation will be issued. If the additional quotation is not accepted, FM Solar (Pty) Ltd cannot continue with the installation. The Customer will then be refunded pro-rata of time spent on site. Should the Customer wish to make use of another service provider to bring the electrical system up to code, the Customer would need to present an updated Electrical COC before FM Solar (Pty) Ltd can continue with installation. FM Solar will then review the system and the monitoring application with the Customer after installation. Please Note: this will not be done by the installer.

    3. Additions to Existing Systems:
      Any additions to an existing system would require a testing inspection by FM Solar (Pty) Ltd’s. Electrical Inspector with regards to compatibility of product and technology at a cost. Any repairs or system updates will be billed extra. If system is non-compliant, installation will not proceed and the Customer will be billed for the time spent on site.

    4. Metering:
      FM Solar (Pty) Ltd will not be held liable for any matters associated with metering and the Customer’s connection to the electricity grid.

    5. Certificate of Compliance:
      A Certificate of Compliance (COC) will be issued after workmanship has been inspected and after payment has been received in full and acts as guarantee of workmanship. The COC only applies to the installation of the Solar System.

    6. Access to premises:

    7. The Customer grants reasonable access to FM Solar (Pty) Ltd:
      • To do inspections and installation at the agreed upon address.

      • To do inspections and installation at the agreed date and time.

      • Should FM Solar (Pty) Ltd not have access, a call-out fee may apply.

      • If no access given the client may lose their scheduled spot and may have to be rescheduled.

    8. Animals:
      Customers are requested to remove animals from the area where work will be conducted.

    9. Quotation variation:
      The Customer acknowledges and agrees that FM Solar (Pty) Ltd has agreed to undertake installation on the property based on information provided by the Customer to FM Solar (Pty) Ltd (as outlined in the Quotation), and a review of publicly available aerial photography for the property. If and to the extent that FM Solar (Pty) Ltd discovers after commencement of the installation circumstances that were not readily apparent from the information provided by the Customer or from the review of publicly available aerial photography for the property, including without limitation circumstances relating to structural integrity, hidden defects, electrical wiring or cabling, gas or water pressure, status or mounting of consumption meters (including without limitation the presence of any asbestos), and other matters relating to the property that may impact on the completion of the installation or the performance of the completed installation, the Customer agrees that FM Solar (Pty) Ltd will be entitled to revise its quotation for the installation and/or will address such matters at the Customer’s own expense as FM Solar (Pty) Ltd reasonably requires in order for FM Solar (Pty) Ltd to complete the installation and/or be satisfied that the performance of the completed installation at the time of such completion will not be adversely affected. If the Customer does not wish to address the circumstances identified or FM Solar (Pty) Ltd determines that such circumstances cannot be rectified or addressed to FM Solar (Pty) Ltd’s satisfaction by a variation to the installation and the quotation, then FM Solar (Pty) Ltd may terminate this Contract by written notice to the Customer and refund within 14 days all monies paid by the Customer for the installation.

    10. Installation Completion:
      The Customer is required to sign the job card once installation is complete. By signing the job card, the Customer agrees that the installation is complete and the Customer has no claim to withhold any monies/payments.

    11. Installation Snags:
      The Customer is required to report any snags in writing via email to info@fmsolar.co.za within 3 working days. Any snags reported after the 3 working days period will be void and not valid.

    12. Workmanship Warranty:
      FM Solar (Pty) Ltd offers a 3-months Workmanship Warranty where no Call-Out Fees will be applicable. The 3-month Workmanship Warranty is effective from date of completed installation. Call-Out Fees will be applicable and billed for once the 3-month Warranty has expired.

    13. Certificate of Compliance:
      Certificate of Compliance (COC) will be issued to the Customer once the outstanding 20% balance has been paid in full.

    14. SSEG Application:
      SSEG Application will be processed once the Customer has paid the outstanding 20% balance in full.

    15. Solar App Access:
      Solar App access will be granted once the Customer has paid the outstanding 20% balance in full.

    16. Equipment:
      The Customer understands that all equipment belongs to FM Solar (Pty) Ltd until paid in full.

    17. Supply and Installation Terms and Conditions: I declare that I understand that I am required to pay 80% on acceptance of quotation, with the 20% balance payable on completion of installation and signed-off job card. I understand that I am liable for all legal fees should I fail to adhere to these Terms & Conditions. I understand that FM Solar (Pty) Ltd cannot guarantee and supply COC when the installation prior and my DB Board is not legally compliant to SANS10142. I understand that FM Solar (Pty) Ltd quoted based on the information I supplied. I understand that any extras requested during installation period will be billed separately as per site specific requirement. I understand that I do not request the installer to do extra work, that I must work through FM Solar (Pty) Ltd’s Agent/Representative. I understand that for the transfer and register of ownership of the components I need to supply my Identity Number.

    Supply and Installation Terms and Conditions.I declare that I understand that I have the option to pay 80% of order upon acceptance, 10 % upon delivery of goods on site and 10% on completion. I also understand that if I pay the order in full that a 2% Early Bird discount apply upon acceptance (applicable only on full solar solutions).I understand that FM Solar cannot guarantee and supply COC when the installation prior and customer DB Board is not legally compliant to SANS10142. I understand that FM Solar quoted based on the information I supplied them. I understand that any extras requested during installation period will be billed separately as per site specific requirement. I understand that I do not request the installer to do extra work, that I must work through FM Solar Agent/Representative. I understand that for the transfer and register of ownership of the components I need to supply my ID number.
